Funeral services were held at the Antelope Valley Lutheran Church on 5 Feb 1983 with burial at Hillside Cemetery in Oberon, ND. He died unexpectedly on 1 Feb 1983 while attending a Cenex convention in Minneapolis, MN.


Allan was born at Fort Totten to parents Toney and Lillian (Fixa) Tweten. During his early childhood the family lived in Devils Lake and in 1941 they moved to a farm in Oberon Township of Benson County. Allan graduated from Oberon High School in 1949. He attended the NDSSS in Wahpeton.


He married Carol Rosenberg on 1 Jul 1951 at Oberon. The couple joined in partnership with her father Raymond Rosenberg and started farming together. In recent years two sons joined the operation, David and Keith.


Allan was very active in the community, serving on the church council, involved in Farmers Union, served on the school board in Oberon, chairman of the ASCS committee, Benson County Water Board and the Oberon rural fire department as a volunteer.


Survivors include wife, Carol; three sons, David and Keith both rural Oberon and Duane of Valley City; two daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Susan) Thoreson of Valley City and Mrs. Dale (Diane) Muske of Dickey, ND; five grandchildren; and his step-mother Mrs. Leona Tweten also of rural Oberon.


Preceded in death by his father, Toney.
