Robert Michael Waters, age 65, of Brunswick, died Wednesday, April 3, 2014 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick. Mike was a lifelong resident of Glynn County and was a proud graduate of Glynn Academy, class of 1967. After high school Mike served in the US Army during in the Vietnam War and was a member of the 101st Airborne Association. He later joined the Air National Guard where he served as a military technician in the 224th until his retirement in 2001. Mike was a member of Norwich Baptist Church, Ocean Lodge #214, the Coastal Gun Club and the Disabled American Veterans organization. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bullard Waters, his step-son, Ty Bullard and his parents, R.C. and Juanell Waters.

He is survived by two sisters, Ann Carlo (Fred) of Valdosta and Janet Hunton (Bill) of Savannah; a niece, Jessie Teepell (Charlie) of Valdosta; a nephew, Evan Bius of Valdosta and a brother in law, Ronald Reeves of Thomasville.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be on Monday at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Lane officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
