US Congressman. Elected to represent Wisconsin's 8th and 9th Districts in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1923 to 1933, and from 1935 until 1939. He did not run for reelection in 1938, and died three months after the completion of his final term, having suffered a heart attack while attending a labor union meeting in Toledo, Ohio.
