Mrs. Wanda Lee Walton Farrar of Winston-Salem, NC passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 29, 2014. She was born March 11, 1940 to James Howard and Jessie Roberts Walton in Danville, VA. She was a 1958 graduate of Brosville High School and worked at Indera Mills from 1985 until 2008. She truly enjoyed her work. She married James H. Farrar April 5, 1958 in Danville, VA. She loved being with her family and friends, going to the lake and being at the beach listening to the waves. She also enjoyed crocheting, traveling and riding with the top down. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James H. Farrar; one daughter, Jill Parnell and husband, Ronald; one son, James L. Farrar and wife, Marie; one granddaughter, Ashley Parnell; one grandson, Lee Farrar; two step grandchildren, Travis and Billy Jack Bowes; one sister, Judy Ree Mangum and husband, Bill; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Bobby W. Norman. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
