Thomas Crumly Sandefur, 69, died at 8:20 PM Wednesday, Feb. 16, 1983, in Lafayette Home Hospital, following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 2, 1914, at Tazewell, TN, moving to Lafayette in 1938. In 1937, he married Docia M. England in Claiborne County, TN; she survives.

Mr. Sandefur had been employed at Purdue University, retiring from there due to ill-health. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Elston Heights Baptist Church and DAV.

Surviving with his widow are a sister, Mrs. Minnie Bailey of New Tazewell, TN; and two brothers, William P. Sandefur of Brooksville, FL, and Clyde Sandeful of New Tazewell.
