Anna Mae (Casher) Canole, 91, Arlington, Va., formerly of Altoona, died in the early morning of March 22, 2014, at ManorCare Health Services-Arlington.

She was born in Spangler, daughter of the late Norman P. and Theresa (Wieland) Casher. She married attorney Joseph Francis Canole on May 16, 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1980.

Surviving are two sons: Joseph Francis Jr. of Arlington, Va., and John Patrick and wife, Stephanie, of Silver Spring, Md.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Nancy Jean Stiles of Cresson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Owen, on Aug. 11, 2013.

Anna Mae was a graduate of Mount Aloysius High School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, and she enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking and her family.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Altoona, Monsignor Stanley Carson as celebrant. Committal rites will be made at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.

Memorial donations in memory of Anna Mae may be made to Carmelite Monastery, c/o Sister Ann, 7201 W. 32nd St., Little Rock, AR 72204.
