Dan Thomas, 85, of Hillsboro passed away March 31, 2014 at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. He was born February 7, 1929 in Eagle Pass to John and Amanda (Roderick) Thomas.
On March 22, 1952 he married Virginia Goodman in Hillsboro. For over 30 years he was an equipment operator for the State of Texas Highway Department. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed working in his garden, fishing and all types of hunting. He was of the Penecostal faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Danny Thomas; five brothers, Clem, J. K., Clifford, Raymond, and Robert Thomas; and three sisters, Rilda Canto, Tommie Sheffield and Pearl Goodman. Survivors include his wife, Virginia; two sons, Ricky Yates and Chris Thomas; sister, Dorothy Hall; two grand children and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held April 5, 2014. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro...M_M
