Seybert Lavonn "Slim" Laws, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in Brady, Texas.

He was born September 11, 1928 in Miller, Missouri. He married Wanda Jean Moody in 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was a carpenter and a former member of the Moose Lodge. He was a Baptist. He owned and operated a Flea Market in Elroy Texas for several years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.

A memorial service for Seybert "Slim" Laws will be held Friday afternoon at 3:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady with Reverend Kevin McDonald officiating.

Seybert "Slim" Laws is survived by his sons Nickey Laws and wife Arlene of Starks, LA, Carl Laws of Elgin, TX, Terry Laws of Lockhart, TX, Wendell Laws and wife Robbie of Hutto, TX and Russell Laws of Austin, TX; daughters Sharon Stover and husband Bruce of Houston, TX, Cheryl Ann Hanson and husband Tim of Boise, ID, Trina Lucas and husband Steve of Bastrop, TX and Tammy Laws of Austin, TX; brothers Lavern Laws and Dean Laws of Kansas; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Stacey and daughter Melinda.
