Buddie B. Shields, 92 of Cañon City, died Oct. 23, 2009, at Sky Line Ridge Nursing Home in Cañon City.
She was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Dalhart, Texas, to James M. and Ada May (Allen) Foster.
Mrs. Shields and her husband, Woodrow W. Shields, ranched for more than 50 years in Coaldale. They were married 66 years when he died in 2004.
She was a member of Coaldale Community Club, Cotopaxi Community Church and the Church Ladies Aide. Her interests included crocheting and playing bridge.
Mrs. Shields was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, seven sisters and a grandson, Justin Shields.
Survivors include sons, David (Renee) Shields of Coaldale, Joe (Sue) Shields of Kremmling, Jack (Pam) Shields of Ria Vista, Texas, and Mike (Jan) Shields of Westcliffe; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be from 10-10:30 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009, at Cotopaxi Community Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Coaldale Cemetery, Coaldale.
