During WWII, she worked in an ordinance factory in Washington State. After the war she spent her time as a housewife and stay-at-Mom. She was very independent, kind and loving. She loved having company and everyone was welcome in her home.Gene and Glen traveled the world with his job.Every Christmas she would send out over 300 Christmas cards to friends that they met in the many places they lived. They lived in Paolo from 1962 to 1971 when they relocated to Houston, Texas. Gene was the Manager of Flour Cororation Equipment Facility formerly located in Paolo. While in Paolo she was active in Eastern Star and Job's Daughters. She loved people, especially children. Her house was always open to her young friends and there was always plenty of food for anyone who stopped by. You never needed an invitation. She was known by many as "Mom". She enjoyed cooking, telling jokes, cruises, and traveling especially to Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe to play blackjack. They had lived/retired in Austin for the last 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Gene, 92, daughter Sammie Sue Wodarski and her husband, Bill, of Austin, Bill's children Dawn and Lynn and great grandchildren Devon, Dylin, Davis, son Tom McCormack of Dallas, and grandchildren, Kelly aand Kristi of Dallas.
She was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 1 brother.
