William "Bill" J. Ritz, 88, Green Bay, died peacefully at a local nursing home on Monday, March 31, 2014.

Born on September 28, 1925, in Green Bay, he is the son of the late Sylvester and Ellen (Stiles) Ritz. On May 20, 1950, he married the former Evelyn Dombroski. Bill was a proud Navy veteran who served during World War II. He worked for the Green Bay Planing Mill for most of his adult life. Bill enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, and old movies.

Bill is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one son, Mark (Sandy) Ritz, Oshkosh; three grandchildren, Jenny (Jim) Blackmore, Brenda (Andrew) Schiessl, and Renee (Doug) Sina, all of Madison; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen Karwedsky, and Katherine Pearson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Edward Ritz; and four sisters, Alvina Wilke, Annabelle Wiegand, Viola Suski, and Charlotte Lee.
