Darrell W. Nygaard, 75, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at his home. He was born on May 17, 1938, in Rugby, North Dakota, son of the late Jorgen Maurice Nygaard and Eva Marian Nygaard. Darrell was the proprietor of Darrell Nygaard, Accountant in Culpeper for many years. He was a member of Culpeper Rotary, Culpeper Jaycees and former Treasurer and Trustee of Culpeper United Methodist Church. He was an United States Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Ann Coiner Nygaard of Culpeper; daughters, Lisa N. Lyons and husband, Ed, of Banco, Virginia, and Linda N. Zobel and husband, Reid, of Culpeper; two brothers, Arnold Maurice Nygaard of Boyd, Maryland, and Dale August Nygaard and wife, Martha, of Staunton, Virginia; a sister, Judith N. Matthews and husband, Gene, of Staunton, Virginia; grandchildren, Joshua Edward Lyons, Nina Elizaveta Lyons, Amy Victoria Lyons, Megan Elizabeth Zobel, Hannah Marie Zobel, Katelyn Faith Zobel, and David Michael Zobel.
