George Odis "Ode" Grantland

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for George Odis (Ode) Grantland, 84, of Northport, formerly of Hartselle, will be today at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Pearl Jenkins officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Somerville Church of God Cemetery.

Mr. Grantland died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000, at DCH Northport Hospital. He was born March 6, 1916, in Morgan County to James Edgar Grantland and Eunie Grantland. He was a farmer. He was father of the late Sue McCutcheon.

Survivors include one son, Harold Keith Grantland of LaGrange, Ill.; two daughters, Jean Jackson of Hartselle and Betty Zane Pannell of Decatur; three sisters, Pauline Sims and Marie Hitt, both of Decatur, and Marcile Crane of Cullman; and 11 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Grantland, Donnie Grantland, Jarod Grantland, Michael Grantland, Ted Grantland and Leslie Pannell.

Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.
