Mrs. Henrietta Johanna Labott, nee Schmidt, breathed her last at her home in the town of Trenton last Wednesday, July 23, 1919, at 8:10 o'clock in the evening. The dissolution was a relief for her, for she had been ailing or invalidated, more or less, for many years. She had been a sufferer from rheumatism for twenty-seven years and five years ago dropsy developed. Deceased was born at Unterfreilippe Kingdom of Saxony, Germany, on August 12, 1845, and in 1849 came to this country with her parents who settled in the town of Herman, Dodge county. After her marriage to John Labott, 1874, the couple for a short time lived in the town of Herman and then moved to the town of Hartford. In 1890 they exchanged their location for the town of Barton, and since 1914 they had made their home in the town of Trenton. Five children were born them, of whom a son and a daughter predeceased thier mother, leaving three, together with the husband to mourn her departure, namely; Richard of Milwaukee, Reinhold of Chicago and Clara (Mrs. Louis Groth)of the town of Barton. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. John Kob, of Hartford, thirteen grandchildren and on great-grandchild. Mrs. Labott possessed the qualities that make womanhood adorable. She was tireless in her duties of wife and mother, and her family clung to her in love. Her ailments she bore with Christian patience and fortitude until the cup of pain was emptied and her soul was freed. She left sweet memories that will not fade with those who stayed behind. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock with services in the Lutheran church here, Rev. E. Hoyer officiating. Burial was made at Union Cemetery.
