He married Alma Doreen Hicks June 20, 1923 in Highland Park, Wayne County, Michigan and they had a daughter, Doreen Hester (Gurdon K. Dennis). He was employed as a clerk in a grocery store in Naperville and then after moving to Highland Park, Michigan, by the C. F. Smith Company as a Manager and the Ford Motor Company as a mechanic/machine repairman. He was raised a Master Mason February 24, 1919. He died February 27, 1966 in Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan.
