Joseph Rothrock was the third of seven known children of Jonathan Rothtrock (1797-1871) and Susannah Derr Rothtrock (1802-1871). It is unsure of how many of Jonathan's children spelled the surname Rothtrock.
Joseph first married Mary (perhaps Stever, daughter of Samuel and Sallie Stever) (1825-1866) in c1852 in presumably Pennsylvania. Joseph and Mary were the parents of one known child, namely:
1. Edward/Edwin Henry Rothrock (1853-1911)
After Mary died, Joseph remarried to Rebecca (1832-1900) in c1868 in presumably Pennsylvania. Joseph and Rebecca were the parents of two children, the names of one whom is known, namely:
2. Laura C. Rothrock (1869-1869)
3. baby child Rothrock (???-???)

The Reading Eagle Newspaper carried his obituary December 30, 1901, page 1. His name is given as "John Rothrock".
John Rothrock, died of paralysis, shortly after noon today at his residence 938 North 6th Street, aged 73 years. Deceased had three strokes, the first a year ago, since which time he was confined to his bed. Mr. Rothrock was born in Hellertown, Northampton County, and was a retired farmer. He came to this city last November, a year. His widow Rebecca, preceded him in death 18 months ago. His son Edward H. of this city (Reading), a sister Sallie, and a brother Samuel of Emaus remain. He was a member of the Lutheran denomination.
