Lifelong Resident of North Bridgewater Passes Away After Brief Illness of Pneumonia.

A. Hollis Pickering, a well known resident of Bridgewater township died at his home about 2 miles north of Montrose on Sunday, April 7, 1929. Mr. Pickering was ill but a few days with pneumonia.

The deceased was a son of John M. and Mary Ellen (West) Pickering and was born on the farm where he died severnty-four years ago. Until recently he had followed farming making his home with an only daughter, Mrs. George Holbrook, and her husband. He was a man highly thought of in his community and had the regard of all for his many ennobling traits of character. He was a member of the Presbyterian church of this place.

Mrs. Pickering died some years ago and the daughter mentioned is the only survivor. Mr. Holbrook is also ill with pneumonia, but his condition is not regarded as dangerous.

The funeral was held in the Presbyterian church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. H. C. Downing officiating. Interment was made in Montrose cemetery in the family plot.
