He was born May 1, 1915 in Saco, Missouri, a son of John H. and Para Lee (Francis) Cox. On October 5, 1933 in Saco, he was united in marriage to Virgie Katherine (Berry) Cox, who survives in the home. Other survivors include 2 sons: Denver & Birdie Cox, Silver Mines, Missouri; 5 daughters and sons-in-law: Helen Sikes, Fredericktown; Nita & Murphy Johnson, O'Fallon, Missouri; Sylvia & Jerry Spradling, Montreal, Missouri; Midge DeMeo, Park Hills, Missouri; and Linda and Bob Smith, Fredericktown; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grand children and 7 great, great grandchildren.
