Miss Caroline Abend, aged 62, was found dead in bed Sunday at the residence of her brother, Edward Abend, in Belleville. In the room was a gas stove which was used for heating purposes. One of the cocks was found open, and it is supposed that Miss Abend arose in the night to turn off the heat and accidentally left the cock open.
