"C.B. Oliver, a native of Kentucky and a resident of Texas since 1890, died at his home near Corinth Saturday pneumonia following from influenza. Mr. Oliver was born in Barron County, Ky April 22, 1850 and was 69 years and 11 months old. He had been a member of the Baptist Church for a half century. He is survived by his wife and three sons. Two sisters and a brother living in Kentucky also survive him. Burial was made Sunday afternoon at the city cemetery here with services in charge of Rev. T.R. Bowles. One of his sons (I believe it to be Ewin Oliver) is very ill with the same disease that caused Mr. Oliver's death". (DRC, March 24th, 1919)
