Sandy Pioneer

Neri Butler, Sandy, who would have been 89 years old on Christmas day, died of causes incident to age, Thursday at 2:50 p.m. in a local hospital.

Mr. Butler was born December 25, 1847, in Indiana, to Samuel and Hannah Barker Butler. He had been a stationary engineer 50 years, having retired 15 years ago.

Surviving are three sons, Willard and William Butler, Emmett, Idaho, and Lester Butler, Sandy; eight daughters, Mrs. Emma Maxfield, Granite; Mrs. Lorette Lewis, Holladay; Mrs. Mary E. Green, Sandy; Mrs. Sarah Atkinson, Midvale; Mrs. Ruth Cornwall, Mrs. Agnes Boarn, Mrs. Viola Clifford and Mrs. Miriam Bitner, Idaho. Seventy grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren also survive.

For Sandy Pioneer

Final services for Neri Butler of Sandy, who would have been 89 years of age on Christmas day, will be held on Sunday at 1 p. m. in the Butler L. D. S. ward chapel. Bishop N. S. Jones will officiate. Friends may call at the Deseret mortuary Saturday afternoon and at the chapel Sunday from 11:30 a. m. until time of the services.

Mr. Butler had been a stationary engineer until 15 years before his death, having served in that capacity for 50 years. Besides his family, he is survived by 70 grand-children and 80 great-grandchildren
