The deceased was among the early pioneer women of Idaho. With her husband, Michael Dowd, she came to Lewiston in 18967, proceeding on to Pierce City where she resided four years. Returning to Lewiston in 1870 Mr. Dowd purchased the Moore Farm in Tammany and that place has since been the home of the deceased. Mr. Dowd died in 1876.
For years in the development of this country "Dowd Farm" was an oasis in the desert, and the weary pilgrim of other days always found the comfort of unstinted? Christian Charity to greet him at the door.
The deceases was one of God's noblest women who great virtue and character will ever live among those who knew her. A life whole only instincts were to do good, will receive the reward of sweetest peace and eternal rest.
The deceased leaves a family of three sons and one daughter to mourn their great affliction--Mrs. George E. Erb, Harry Dowd, Charles Dowd and Mathew Dowd.
