In this township, on Thursday morning last, Mrs Nancy Scudder, wife of Mr Jedediah Scudder, and in the evening of the same day, Joseph Scudder, eldest son of Richard Scudder and grandson of the before mentioned deceased, aged about 15 years- a very promising youth.
These persons resided in the same house and died of the typhus fever, now prevailing in the upper part of this township. The melancholy scene of interment was attended by the day following and both were laid in one grave, in the burying ground of the First Presbyterian Church, attended by a large concourse of sympathizing relatives, and friends. Five persons of this family were down with the disorder before the above deaths, but we have the satisfaction of stating that the three remaining are on the recovery.
