Carl Rudolph Alexander died in Houston, Texas. He was a graduate of the Prairie View Training School and also attended Prairie View A&M University.

Following graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served honorably. He was married to Helen Arnez Easter for 54 years and had five children: one son and four daughters. He's survived by his beloved wife, Helen and four children; 28 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 brother, 2 sisters-in-law including numerous relatives, nieces, nephews and family friends.

Visitation was on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Singleton & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Hempstead, Texas from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services were held at Bailey Chapel Church of God in Christ, 3004 Sledge Street Waller, Texas 77484 at 11:00 am with Elder Thomas Lindsey as the eulogist and Min. W.L. Simon officiating.

Interment at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas with full military honors on Monday, March 31, 2014.

On December 15, 1929, a baby boy was born to Lucy Ellen Reynolds and Oscar Alexander. They named him Carl Rudolph Alexander.

Carl R. Alexander confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a faithful church member until his health failed him.

His hobbies included dancing, raising quarter horses, athletics or sports, socializing, entertaining by singing in the quartet. He attended grammar, middle and high school in Waller, Texas and Prairie View. While attending middle and high school, he was very athletic. Whatever the challenge was, he mastered it and more. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a tail ganner. He served for several years and received an honorable discharge.

While pursuing his goals and dreams, he attended Prairie View A&M University. While attending college, he met the love of his life, Helen Arnez Easter, shortly after the courtship began they united as one. It was March 12, 1960, Mr. and Mrs. Carl R. Alexander started their family, consisting of one son, Carl Rudolph Alexander Jr. and four daughters, Cassandra Arnez Alexander, Tammy Renae Alexander, Dianah Marie Alexander, and Sarah Elizabeth Alexander.

Carl R. Alexander worked for several years at Hockley Salt Mine. He also worked for Cameron Iron Works for several years. After retiring from Cameron Iron Works, he became self-employed in furniture upholstery. Carl continued his upholstery business until his health failed him.

He did business and socialized in the cities in which he lived in Waller, Hockley, Houston, Brookshire, Hempstead, Bryan and Navasota.

Carl R. Alexander entered into eternal rest on March 19, 2014 at the Veterans Hospital of Houston, Texas. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Oscar Alexander, Jr., Jessie Willard Alexander, Jewel Alexander Preston, Princess Maria Alexander, Sampson Moore, Romeo Julius Cesar Alexander, and Bennie Lewis, and his daughter, Tammy Bledsoe.

Carl leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Helen Easter Alexander and children: Carl R. Alexander Jr. (Kathy), Cassandra Alexander, Dr. Dianah White (Curtis), Sarah Alexander, Barbara Robinson, Noelle Garvie Turner, Maury Garvie (Leslie) and Carey Richardson (Stephanie).

He also leaves a faithful brother, Ernest Ray Alexander (Rebecca) and two sisters-in-law, Homerzelle Alexander of Oakland, California and Orelia Alexander. There is also one goddaughter, Helaine "Linda" Guillory; a dear and faithful niece to the end, Carolyn Alexander Watson and 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren including a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
