Henry Joseph Dunford, age 70, beloved husband, childhood friend, Dad and Papa Joe went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from his home of Saint Cloud, FL.

Henry was born in Warriormine, WV on November 11, 1943 and was the son of William George and Vivian Viola Lester Dunford. Most of his life he was a long distance tractor trailer driver where he drove across and up and down this great land of America. Later, he was employed by the Osceola County Schools and left in July of 1990 to move to Virginia. He was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God church in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his birth parents and by his parents who nurtured him from the age of six months old, Alec J. and Lettie Mae Shepherd Dunford.

He is survived by:

His Loving Wife, Alice Faye Hodges Dunford of Saint Cloud, FL

Two Sons he also nurtured:
Brian Conley and wife, Kriss of Auburn, CA
Marc Antonio "Tony" Cortes of Saint Cloud, FL

One Step-granddaughter, Paris Alisa Osborne

One Sister:
Nancy Ann Mitchelson and husband, Michael of Clover, SC

Also surviving are several cousins, nephews, other family members and many special friends.

Lord, when a lost takes us through such deep pain, we cannot understand-we can only believe.
Please help us to believe in your mercy and wisdom…give us your consolation, that we may comfort one another in this, our moment of loss. Strengthen us, Lord, and draw us all closer in your love and precious peace.

A graveside service for Henry Joseph Dunford will be conducted Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 11:00 am at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Ethel Watson officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Those who will be attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to the American Heart and Lung Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
