Wacila was born April 19, 1945 in San Diego, California, to J. C. and Gearldeen Thornhill Pruett. The family moved to Seymour in the late 1940's where she attended Seymour schools. Wacila went to nursing school, receiving her L.V.N. certification and worked for the Seymour Hospital Authority for over 30 years as the manager of the Dietary Dept. She married Benny Cumba on August 18,1973 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Seymour. He died on February 20,2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by one daughter, Darla Holder and husband Richard, Euless, TX: one son, Keith Cumba and wife Sheila of Oklahoma City, OK, on sister, Janie Eddleman and husband Steve of Seymour; four grandchildren;Jarrod Cumba and wife Kandi, Brandon Cumba and wife Beka, Bradley Higgins and wife Lorin, and Jordan Smith; three step-grandchildren; Rich, Ryder and Marina; four great grandchildren, Kaden, Ella, Lilith and Logan.
The family suggest memorials to the Seymour Cemetery Association.
