LIDDIEVILLE (Special) — Funeral services for Barton Duvalle Bennett, 91, of Liddieville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Boeuf River Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Ogden Cemetery near Winnsboro under the direction of First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.

Mr. Bennett died Tuesday afternoon at a local rest home after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Montgomery County, Miss., and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Boeuf River Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ada Browning Bennett, Winnsboro; two sons, C. D. Bennett, Lubbock, Tex., and J. C. Bennett, Winnsboro; five daughters, Mrs. Roberta Roberts, Chatham, Mrs. Elsie Dark, Winnsboro, Mrs. Reavie McCalman and Mrs. Mirva Smith, both of Homer, and Mrs. Lora Roland, Longview, Tex.; 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Gravesite Details

Mr. Bennett married Ada Lee Browning on January 30, 1902 in Montgomery County, MS. He moved to Franklin Parish from Mississippi with his wife and children about 1913.
