Mabel Nellie Himbert, 93, of Rockford, died at 12;15 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 1997, in Park Strathmoor. Born Feb 25, 1904, in Woodstock, daughter of Charles and Clara (Benjamin) Allen, Married to Joseph Himbert; he died in 1980 Formerly employed at Weise's department store Mall. Member of St. Barnadette Catholic Church. She did beautiful handwork including crocheting and knitting. She was also a Great cook and was famous for her lemon creme pie.
Survivors include special nephews, Stanley (Mary) Himbert of Oregon, Roger Allen of South Beloit; special nieces, Jane (Richard) Brogren and Lillian (Roy) Flink, all of Rockford, Mary (Phil) Lindman of Irving, Texas, and Joan Carlson of Janesville, Wis. Predeceased by five brothers, Harry, Raymond, Lester, Elmer and Infant Everette Allen.
Services at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, in St. Barnadette Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matthew T. Rudden, Pastor, officiating. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago
