Debbie passed away at her residence in Franklin. She is the daughter of Shirley Hedrick Thompson and the late Paul Thompson. On February 5, 1972 she married her husband of 42 years, Gary Michael Smith, who survives in Franklin. Debbie was a 1971 graduate of Franklin High School and she graduated from Charleston Beauty Academy. She was a member of the Word of Faith Church in Monterey, VA. Debbie was a Beautican and owned and operated Debs Snips and Clips in Franklin. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by: a son Rodney and wife Charlene ; a daughter Michelle McNair and husband Tierre; two sisters, Linda Wimer and husband Larry; Connie Comer and husband Terry; two brothers, Paul Delmas Thompson and Jeffrey Thompson and wife Vickie.and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:00 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor Chip Hill officiating.
