HOKE, George M. age 95, of Oakwood, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2014. He was born March 6, 1919 to the late Ambrose J. and Clara (Knife) Hoke. George was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of SAE Fraternity. George was well known in the Dayton area and was the owner/operator of Hoke Brothers Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. He was a lifetime member of the Brush Creek Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith on Frederick Pike, an active member of Carriage Hill Farm and the Carillon Park Rail & Steam Society. He is survived by his wife: Betty Nash, children: Bill (Evelyn) Hoke of Abingdon, VA, Beth (David) Pachin of Lewisburg, Samuel Hoke of Englewood, Carol Hoke of Westminster, CA, Timothy Hoke of West Milton, David Hoke of Brookville, 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, step children: Nancy Nash and Jonathan Ijaz, John (Martha) Nash, Susie (Bob) Hogue, Connie (Dave) Kearns, Rob Nash, 14 step grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 59 years: Charlotte E. (McKee) Hoke, brothers: Paul Hoke, Samuel and his wife Janis Hoke, foster daughter: Rebecca Kessler Honeyman, daughters-in-law: Patricia and Dee Hoke and step-daughter: Tess Gottschlich. Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family at Fairview Cemetery in Englewood.
