Martha's mother, Lucy Thomas, the daughter of Ellen Pickett and Hincher Thomas, was a native of South Carolina until her marriage in 1826. When Martha's brother, Sidney M. Jones, was four years of age, their mother removed to Macon County, Alabama. Lucy had three known children; Sidney M. Jones immigrated to Limestone County, Texas; "Martha, wife of Robert C. Robinson (sic), of Georgia, a merchant and lumber dealer" (Book, Reprints of Biographies from The Lone Star State, Jones & Related Families p. 353), and Lucy Jones, wife of ____ Tarver (1870 census Limestone County, Texas).
