Early Life: Melba was born August 25, 1902, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jesse George and Lucy Loretta Clayton Riser. She was a granddaughter of William Clayton.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: She married Harold Austin on June 22, 1926, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in 1975. Melba Riser Austin died peacefully on Thursday, February 17, 1994, in Orem, Utah, of causes incident to age. She was 91.
Survived By: Three daughters: Myrle (R.W.) Davidson, Lindalie (R. Ralph) Benson, and Monya (David F.) Adamson; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Loretta Clark, Undine Mortensen; brother, Ralph Riser. A son died at birth.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, her parents and infant son.
