Edward A. Littacher, 65, of 1203 Elm Street died Saturday in Faxton Hospital after a long illness.

He was born September 21, 1893 in Utica, a son of Eugene and Cecelia Trossat Littacher. He attended local schools.

He was employed by the Utica Fire Department for 25 years and retired in 1940. More recently he was employed by J.B. Wells & Co. for five years. He retired from this job in 1957. He married twice. In 1917 he married Gladys G. Hardwood. She died in 1927. On April 9, 1928 he married Theresa J. Harwood.

He was a member of St. Francis De Sales Church, it's Holy Name Society and the Utica Fire Department Benwvolent Assoc.. Surviving besides his wife are a son, William A. Littacher, Saranac Lake; a brother Frank E. Littacher, Ilion; a sister, Mrs.Gertrude Lindstron, Jamaica; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews .
