Funeral services for Martha Dockter, 98, of Eureka will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Eureka Reformed Church. The Reverend Richard Stelter will officiate. Burial will be in Eureka City Cemetery.
Martha passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Avera Eureka Health Care Center.
Martha Hochhlater, daughter of Jacob and Christina (Klotz) Hochhalter, was born January 06, 1910, on the family homestead southwest of Wishek, North Dakota. She attended country school and later worked on the family farm. She was united in marriage to David Dockter on February 05, 1939, at Venturia, North Dakota. They made their home on his parent's farm for two years, then moved to Eureka.
Martha was a cook at the Luncheonette and later at the Eureka Public School for 12 years. She retired in 1975, and during her retirement, she was a substitute cook at the senior center.
Her husband died November 05, 1975, and she continued to make Eureka her home. Martha enjoyed gardening, crocheting and cooking for her family. She was a member of Eureka reformed Church.
Survivors include three sons, Gary (Caroln) Dockter, Hudson, Wisconsin, Wayne (Sandra) Dockter of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Russell Dockter of Homosassa Springs, Florida; two brothers, Walter (Alice) Hochhalter of Wishek and Edwin (Frances) Hochhalter of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandsons; one step grandson; two great grandsons; and one step great grandson.
Her parents, husband and 12 siblings preceded her in death.
