A Celebration of Life service for Mark Richard Stevenson, 51, of Trimont, Minn., will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2005, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont, with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in rural Trimont. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2005, at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday. Mark Richard Stevenson was born Feb. 20, 1954, to Richard and Marie (Swearingen) Stevenson in St. Paul, Minn. In 1972, he graduated from Henry Sibley High School in West St. Paul. Mark received a degree in Supermarket Management from Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount. On May 6, 1978, he was united in marriage to Carol Kern in Gilman, Wis. After their marriage, Mark worked for Applebaums Corporation and then Peoples Natural Gas in Eagan. In 1984, Peoples Natural Gas Company transferred Mark and his family to Trimont. In December 1994, Mark became disabled due to a heart condition called dilated cardiomyopathy. He fought this illness with courage, faith, tenacity, and a cheerful sense of humor. During his illness, Mark returned to college and earned a degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design in the year 2000 from South Central Technical College in North Mankato. As a student and alumnus, Mark was actively involved in the student organization Skills USA VICA. Mark was a former volunteer firefighter for both the city of Eagan and the city of Trimont. He volunteered his time at the Trimont Nursing Home and St. James Lutheran School. He was a faithful and active member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont. Mark adored his wife and cherished his children. He attended and exhibited at many area classic car shows. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with people of all ages from all walks of life.

Mark left this earth and went to his eternal home in heaven on Sunday, July 17, 2005. He died at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester at the age of 51 years.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Richard Stevenson; father-in-law, Chet Kern; brothers-in-law, Mark Capistrant and Vern Strasser; and nephew, Douglas Adams.
