On March 22, 2014 Edith Rayetta (nee Buck) Leedy passed away in her home in Parkville, Maryland. Born on November 21, 1930 in Rural Retreat, Virginia. She was the loving daughter of the late Robert Ray Buck and his wife Mollie Buck (nee Havens). Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers. She was the beloved companion of many years to the late Melvin V. Gryczkowski. "Auntie" is survived by several grand, great-grand and great-great grand nieces and nephews in Virginia and Maryland. She is also survived by other loving relatives and friends. Edie moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the early 1960's by herself and created a life here in Maryland. Edie retired after 30 years from the Baltimore City Police Department (1964-1994) as a police clerk. Family and friends will honor Edie's life at the family owned Evans Funeral Chapel and Cremation Services – Parkville, 8800 Harford Rd. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 from 4-7PM with a service beginning at 7PM. Family will also receive friends at Lindsey Funeral Home - 219 N. Main Street, Rural Retreat, Virginia 24368 on Friday, March 28, 2014 from 5-7PM where a funeral service will be held Saturday 11AM. Interment Mountain View Cemetery.
