Son of Jewell J. and Myrtis Causey Addison, Wanda

Julius 'Dude' Addison, 74 of Summit, died August 3, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends following a lengthy illness. He was born August 2, 1935 in Pike County. He was the son of Jewel and Myrtis Causey Addison. He was retired from Illinois Central Gulf Railroad where he was a bridge foreman. He was a member of New Heights Baptist Church.

Mr. Addison loved fishing and hunting with his friends and family. For many years, he played the steel guitar for local shows and the surrounding area. He loved his church and unselfishly volunteered his time to the community and anyone who was in need. He was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be sorely missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Betty Golmon Addison of Summit; two sons, Richard W. and Timothy Lynn Addison, both of Summit; three daughters, Donna Sundberg and husband, Thomas C. of Hattiesburg, Wanda Cox of Summit and Judy Whisenant and husband Louie of Summit; five grandchildren, Teresa Pauline McKlemurry of Albertville, AL, Justin Wade Addison of Oxford, Alisha Cox Grable, Christy Noel Cox and Caleb Lee Addison, all of Summit; two great-grandchildren, Shane Baker of Albertville and Damian Christopher Grable of Summit and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation is Wednesday in Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb from 5PM until 8PM and Thursday from noon until services at 2PM with Rev. Rick Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Reeves Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Elliot Golmon, John Golmon, Roy Regan, Pete Dickerson, Rusty McCulley and Bill Clark.
