Nancy began writing at the age of six and never stopped despite the early onset of Multiple Sclerosis. She was a summa cum laude graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine and received a Master of Arts from Columbia University, New York. As a professor of English, she taught English and Creative Writing at various academic institutions.
Nancy was Director of the 551 Writer's Salon, a gathering place for budding writers and poets. She was also a certified poetry therapist, believing that writing releases hidden dreams and that the creative process is a liberating and powerful force. Nancy has a published book of poems called "Magic Pebbles" which captures her struggle for survival over the past two decades living with MS and describes how she was able to overcome her disability with the joy she received from the people she loves and her ability to find magic in the ordinary.
