Born in Butler township Oct. 22, 1867, he had lived in Richland county all of his life. He was a member of St. Matthew;s Lutheran Church.
Surviving are four sons, Estel of Shelby, Russell E and Theodore I (Jeff) both of Mansfield, and Roscoe of Muskegon, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. George Johnson of Ashland, Ky, and Mrs.Henry M Donahue of Fort Wayne, Ind,; two brothers, George of Oregon, and Arthur of Washington; a sister, Mrs. Mary Callen of Akron; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
