MATTHEWS, MILDRED "MILLIE," 92, of South Louisville, joined her husband Hamie in heaven on Wednesday, March 20, 2014.

A native of Danville, KY, she was the former Mildred Fischer, a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, a member and volunteer for Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Auxiliary for 63 years, and a volunteer for Saintly Treasures.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hamie; sisters and brothers in-law, Dorothy and Joe Scheurich, Bea and Casey Jones.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Bob and Gloria, Dick and Margaret, and Dave and Della Scheurich, Peggy and Rick Adcock, Roger (Candy), Bob and Marc Jones; 13 great, 33 great-great and 12 great-great-great-nieces and nephews; and her loyal poodle, "Mitzi".

A Mass of celebration for Millie will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3509 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd.

Memorial gifts may be made to Mass of the Air or Saintly Treasures c/o Sts. Mary & Elizabeth.
