Mr. Paul R. DeWald, 90, of 2865 Cochran Ave., DuBoistown, passed away at home, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011.

Paul was a member of Saint John's-Newberry United Methodist Church at Williamsport.

Paul attended South Williamsport Area Schools. He also was a member of Ivy Lodge No. 397, F&AM, Williamsport; The Tall Cedars Lodge No. 199 at Muncy and was also a member of the Ancient Accepted Order of Scottish Rite, Valley of Williamsport (Williamsport Consistory). Paul was also a member of the Wheel Inn at Roaring Branch.

Born Dec. 20, 1920, at Masten, he was the son of the late Raymond R. and Leah Casselberry DeWald.

Paul retired in 1983 after 42 years of service as a crane operator for the former Williamsport plant of Bethlehem Steel.

He and his wife, the former Marguerite Bensinger, were married on Jan. 31, 1942, at South Williamsport.

Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Marguerite DeWald at their home, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his late parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his four brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Saint John's Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry St., Williamsport. His pastor, Rev. Kraig L. Faust, will officiate.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering at the church on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at 10 a.m.

The family respectfully declines to receive floral tributes and respectfully suggests that contributions in memory of Mr. Paul R. DeWald may be made if so desired to either Saint John's-Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to Southern Care Hospice, 190 Choate Circle, Suite No. 2, Montoursville, PA 17754.

The family of Mr. DeWald would like to express their gratitude to nurse Jolene Confer and Chaplain Gary Runtas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Charles M. Noll Funeral Home, 1 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport.
