Mrs. Zella M. Boggs, 83, a former Richwood woman, died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday in the Union County Home. She had been ill for several years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the WSCS of the church. She was also a member of the Claibourne Grange.

Born July 22, 1888, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Sherman and Cora Payne Emans. She was married to Guy Major on Feb. 3, 1909. He died in 1944. She married Roy Boggs on Jan. 7, 1946, and he died in 1970.

Survivors include a brother Glen, of Lima, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. in the Ballinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Wrightsel officiating. Burial will be in Harman Cemetery near Gilboa.
