SAMUEL F. ROYER, a well known and respected farmer, died very suddenly at his home southeast of town at 3:20 o'clock Monday afternoon of angina pectoris. He was aged 58 years, 11 months and 29 days.
Mr. Royer was engaged with his usual duties about the farm until a half hour before his death.
Samuel F. Royer, son of Daniel and Eliza (Maxwell) Royer, was born January 15, 1857, on a farm near his present home where he spent his younger days later entering the Frick shops where he was employed as a moulder for thirty years. Ten years ago he purchased the Welty homestead where he lived until the time of his death.
Mr. Royer was an energetic and progressive farmer and a man of splendid disposition and manner. He was a member of the Lutheran church of this place.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy (McGinley) Royer, south of town; Mrs. Joseph B. Spangler, near home; Mrs. Frank Minnick, near Hagerstown; Mrs. Grover Miller, Marsh district; Mrs. Roy Wilders, Waynesboro; Margaret, Earl and Richard, at home.
Two sisters also survive him: Mrs. Susan Shank, Waynesboro, and Mrs. David Eshelman, south of town.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 o'clock at the house, conducted by Rev. Dr. J. M. Francis. Interment in Green Hill cemetery.
Friends and relatives ae invited to attend without further notice.
