Henry LeRoy Fiddie, age 90, of Summerville SC, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

Mr. Fiddie was born October 25, 1923, in Summerville, SC, a son of the late William H. Fiddie and Bessie Elizabeth Jackson Fiddie.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed and retired as a Rigger in Shop 72 at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Turkey Pond Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends, and a cold glass of sweet tea. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a truly content soul and grateful for his blessings from our Lord.

Mr. Fiddie was survived by a son, William (Ann) Fiddie of Orangeburg SC; three daughters, Helen White of Wewahitchka FL, Deborah (John) Wimberly of St. George SC, and Robin (Scott) Blackwell of Goose Creek, SC; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Betty May Fiddie.

Funeral services were Friday, March 21, 2014, in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home chapel, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. Services were provided by Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations.
