Mr. Baker died peacefully on Friday, July 19. He was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Groveton, the son of the Jesse and Erma Baker. He proudly served his country as a corporal in the United States Army during World War II and received a Victory Medal upon discharge in 1947. Mr. Baker attended AIB Banking School and retired after many years of service as a loyal employee of Allied Bank of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Peggy Perkins; and a brother, Gary Baker.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years,one daughter and her spouse,one brother,a grand-daughter and her spouse, a great-grandson,and a number of other relatives and friends.
Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.
