TRINITY -- Services for Joe Don Baker, 85, of Trinity were held at 1p.m. Monday. July 22, 2013 at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Loftin officiating. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Trinity.

Mr. Baker died peacefully on Friday, July 19. He was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Groveton, the son of the Jesse and Erma Baker. He proudly served his country as a corporal in the United States Army during World War II and received a Victory Medal upon discharge in 1947. Mr. Baker attended AIB Banking School and retired after many years of service as a loyal employee of Allied Bank of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Peggy Perkins; and a brother, Gary Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years,one daughter and her spouse,one brother,a grand-daughter and her spouse, a great-grandson,and a number of other relatives and friends.

Waller-Thornton Funeral Home of Trinity directed the arrangements.
