Melba Davis Reger, 96, passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at Golden Meadows in Banning. Melba was born May 21, 1917 to Herman and Meta Pietsch Hinz in Farmington, Minn. and was a graduate of Farmington High School. She made her home in Big Pine, Calif. for 63 years, and Jamestown, Calif. for seven years. She resided in Banning, Calif. for five years. She was always active in her community as a Girl Scout leader, through the Gold Diggers Club and as an active member of the Methodist Church in Big Pine. Melba is preceded in death by her husbands, David T. Davis and Harold C. Reger; and sisters, Rose Mendenhall, Elaine Mitchell and Carol Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Donna D. Strong; son-in-law, Dr. Richard M. Strong; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild
The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Meadows for all the love and support they gave for so many years. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Weaver Mortuary Chapel, 1177 Beaumont Ave., Beaumont, CA.
