Jack Maurice Bell, 88, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014, at West Texas VA Health and Care System in Temple, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2014, at Corley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 21, at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Luera officiating. Burial will take place in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Jack was born in Oakwood, Texas, to the late Jack Bell and Rosa Lee Dodds Bell. He was reared in the Buffalo area until moving to Corsicana as a child and later lived at the Corsicana State Home for Children. Jack attended Corsicana State School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge.

Jack worked in the oil field Roughnecking for AW Thompson, Brown and Root, Dotco and Expert. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, loved the Dallas Cowboys, TCU, collecting knives, and also looked forward to the Corsicana State Home Reunions.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1929; his mother, Rosa Lee Dodds Dushane in 1961; his wife, Juanita; brother, James E. Bell; and sister, Lucille Bell Green.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathy, of Odessa; son, Keith, of Texarkana; grandsons, Nick Watson and Kanyon Ramirez, of Odessa, Texas; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Z14
