Son of Jimmie Staton. He was widowed at the time of his death and was buried on January 25, 1928 at Nahala Church. A. W. Staton of Scotland Neck, NC was the informant.

NOTE: His death certificate incorrectly lists Susie Landing as his mother. Susie Landen was his wife. His mother was (Caroline) Elizabeth Bell who married James Staton on May 20, 1858 in Edgecombe County, NC. His death certificate also incorrectly shows that he was born in Halifax County. His parents were married in Edgecombe County and were living in Edgecombe County in 1860 as shown on the 1860 US census.
