Mr. Fuqua was born on Saturday, November 22, 1930 to the late Logan and Nona Bell (Farrar) Fuqua in Mansfield and had been a life-long resident. During his youth Lofton was a Golden Glove Boxer with the Friendly House, and graduated from Mansfield Senior High School, the class of 1950. Lofton retired from General Motors Plant in 1992 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and the Road Runners Motorcycle Club. When his children were in school Lofton was very involved with his children's sporting events.
Lofton is survived by his two daughters: Linda, Plain City, and LeDell, Columbus; two sons: Lantz G., (Wanda) Sr., Ashland, and L. Terrence (Jeanne), Indianapolis, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Khalilah Cox, Ramon Francis, Leslie and Traci Fuqua, Lantz (Elizabeth) Fuqua, Jr., Joshua Hairston and Karen Raines; nine great-grandchildren: Chante, Cheyenne, GeCora, and Robert Francis, Marquez Cox, Liam Fuqua, Hunter and Hayden Gerwig and Kemper Grimwood; three sisters: Buena Vista Kelly and Genevieve Oden, Mansfield, and Mary Uter, Cleveland and his former wife and caregiver: Lois Fuqua, Mansfield.
In addition to his parents, Lofton was preceded in death by his daughter, LaDonna and two brothers, Muhammad (Herbert) and Robert, Sr.
Friends may call Thursday in the Ruth Anna Lee Williams Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Services after 2 where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 12 noon in the Chapel with Bishop Clifton Jones of the Agape Love Ministries Church in Sandusky will officiating. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
The family will also receive friends at their home daily from 3-7 till the day of service.
