The Noble County Leader, Caldwell, Ohio, November 8, 1956:
George Hurst, 91, of Belle Valley, died Thursday at 1:30 p.m. while walking in the field at his home.
A neighbor, John Beymer, saw him fall and Noble county coroner, Dr. N.S. Reed, was called. Born July 9, 1865, in Noble County, he was the son of James and Emalene Ackley Hurst. He was a farmer and former trustee of Noble township. His wife, Sarah Davis Hurst, died Jan. 2, 1936.
Surviving are a son, Urbane of Belle Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Marian McDonald and Mrs. Myra Fogle, both of Louisville, Stark County and Mrs. Myrtle Bond of Sarahsville route 1; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Austin and Walton Hurst, both of Caldwell.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Belle Valley Methodist Church, with Rev. Clair Gay of Orrville officiating. Burial was made in the Olive Cemetery.
